there are many other "Sand Pebbles" out there and that we share an
appreciation for this epic motion picture. Many of the letters I've
received include fascinating personal experiences and insights. I wish
to thank all those who have allowed me to include their letters here. I
know you will find them as interesting as I did. The letters have been
sorted into three categories.
